Privacy policy
This policy explains what Cue the Tape, operated by Ferroni Holdings, LLC, collects about you, what we do with it, and who else handles it. We collect what the service needs to make and keep your videos, and nothing for advertising.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture as Google provides them. If you sign in by email link, the address alone.
- Your material. The website address you give us and a snapshot of that site (its text, images and colours), any images, clips, music or brief you upload, and the product description you approve.
- Your videos. The scenes, artwork, motion, soundtrack and edits that make up each video, and the files you export.
- Usage records. When videos are made and edited, which model calls they used and what they cost, and standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) kept for security and troubleshooting.
- Payments. Purchases are made through Paddle. We receive a record of what was bought and the email address used. We never see your card number.
- Early-test requests. If you fill in the form on our home page: your email, website and what you told us about your product.
We use one cookie, which keeps you signed in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.
How we use it
- To make your videos: reading your site, describing your product, designing and rendering scenes, composing music, and applying your edits.
- To run your account: signing you in, counting free previews and credits, and emailing you about your videos or purchases.
- To keep the service working and safe: fixing problems, preventing abuse, and measuring what generation costs.
- To answer you when you write to us.
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or use your material or videos to train AI models. We do not show your videos publicly unless you tell us we may.
Who else processes it
Making a video means sending parts of your material to service providers under their own privacy and data-use terms:
- Anthropic: the AI models that read your site snapshot, your brief and images, and write the product description, plan, artwork and motion. We will update this policy before sending material to any other model provider.
- ElevenLabs: composes original soundtracks from a written music brief. Your lyrics or scene text are sent when a song is composed.
- Perplexity and GetSongBPM: look up public information about a music style or artist you name, to describe it. Nothing about you is sent.
- Google: sign-in with Google, and Google Fonts for typefaces you choose.
- Amazon Web Services: hosts the service, stores your material and videos, and sends our email.
- Cloudflare: protects and speeds up the site; it sees the requests your browser makes.
- Paddle: processes payments as merchant of record and handles sales tax, receipts and refunds.
We send each provider only what its task needs. Your videos and files are not shared with anyone else.
Where it is kept and for how long
Data is stored in the United States. We keep your account, material and videos for as long as your account is open, so you can come back to them. Server logs are kept for 30 days. Early-test requests are kept until the early test ends. When you close your account, we delete your material, videos and account details within 30 days, except records of purchases, which we keep as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing [email protected]. We answer within 30 days. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or California, you have these and further rights under local law, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Children
The service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if you think we have, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will email account holders before the change takes effect. The date at the top is the version in force.
